The Story
Jean Grandjean drew this male study in 1776 and it has now a huge Icosidodecahedron as head, wich seems to fit perfectly.
Process
The historical drawings are pre-studies for paintings or exercises, in order to depict the human being in its form and movement correctly. I painted polyhedric forms as watercolors and inserted them in a digital collage as a head in the drawings. The head as a place of our thoughts and calculations is replaced by mathematics. On the other hand the polyhedric forms, previously pure geometric constructs, become emotionally charged when combined with studies of the human body.
